This time the Traffic went for the all time legendary track Super Freak By Rick James as the A side to this hot 45. The result is a full-tilt hard hitter version of the classic that has all the nuances of the original and some extra sass thrown in.. As a bonus, the outro has a special ode to an "artist" who also dabbled with parts of Super Freak!!
Side B is a favorite song of mine by Justin Timberlake & the Neptunes called "Like I Love You" As soon as this song came out I was all about the drums, that guitar riff, and vocal phrasing. Such great producing by Pharrell in the original. So we made this as big as you can get, with big drums, Baritone sax, flute ,bone and even an Indian tabla solo in the "rap" section and some synth for good measure.
We hope you enjoy this instrumental super funk 45 as much as we did making it!!
